Big Mac Burger Sliders

These Big Mac Burger Sliders pack the familiar fast-food flavor into an easy party recipe you can bake and serve all at once. They work well for game day, casual get-togethers, or a fun family dinner when you want the taste of a classic burger in slider form. Juicy mini beef patties, melty cheese, crisp lettuce, and homemade special sauce all get tucked into soft Hawaiian rolls for that sweet-and-savory balance.

What makes these burger sliders stand out is the mix of textures in each bite. The toasted tops get a sesame seed finish, the lettuce stays cool and crisp, and the tangy sauce ties everything together. Baking the buns together also makes these sliders easy to assemble for a crowd without standing at the stove building burgers one by one.

If you are making burger sliders for a group, these are especially handy because every slider comes out uniform and easy to grab. The flavor leans close to the drive-thru version, but the homemade sauce and fresh toppings give these Big Mac Burger Sliders a fresher finish.

Why You’ll Love This

• Iconic Flavor: The homemade Big Mac sauce perfectly replicates the signature tangy, creamy taste.

• Crowd-Pleaser: Easily serves a group, making it ideal for hosting or parties.

• Quick and Efficient: Baking the sliders as a single unit saves time compared to making individual burgers.

Big Mac Burger Sliders Recipe

For the Big Mac Sauce

  • 1 cup (240ml) mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) dill relish
  • 1/4 cup (approx. 40g) minced white onion
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) ketchup
  • 1 tbsp + 1 tsp (20ml) yellow mustard
  • 2 tsp (10ml) white vinegar
  • 2 tsp (8g) granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp (2g) paprika
  • 1/2 tsp (3g) salt
  • 1/2 tsp (1.5g) onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp (1.5g) garlic powder

For the Sliders

  • 12 (1 pack) Hawaiian rolls
  • 1 lb (approx. 450g) ground beef, formed into 12 mini patties
  • 6-8 slices (approx. 115-150g) cheddar or American cheese
  • 1 cup (approx. 70g) shredded iceberg lettuce
  • 2 tbsp (28g) melted butter
  • 1 tsp (3g) sesame seeds
  • Salt and pepper to taste (for the patties)

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Prepare the Sauce: In a medium bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, relish, minced onion, ketchup, mustard, vinegar, sugar, paprika, salt, onion powder, and garlic powder until smooth. Set aside in the refrigerator to allow flavors to meld.

2. Cook the Patties: Form the ground beef into 12 small, flat patties slightly larger than the size of a Hawaiian roll. Season with salt and pepper, then sear in a hot skillet for 2-3 minutes per side until fully cooked.

3. Toast the Buns: Slice the entire pack of Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally. Place both halves of the buns on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Brush both bottom and tops of buns with melted butter and sprinkle sesame seeds on the top buns. Bake on 375F for about 6 minutes until golden.

4. Assemble: Layer bottoms of the buns with Big Mac sauce followed by a patty, cheese, sauce, lettuce, another patty, cheese, lettuce, a 3rd layer of Big Mac sauce and finally the top buns.

5. Serve: Serve sliders with extra Big Mac sauce on the side.

Ingredient Notes and Easy Swaps

American cheese gives these Big Mac burger sliders the closest fast-food style melt, while cheddar brings a sharper flavor. If you want the beef to stay juicy without leaving too much grease behind, an 80/20 or 85/15 ground beef blend works well for sliders this size. Keep the shredded lettuce cold until the last minute so it stays crisp once the warm patties and buns are ready.

You can also make a few simple swaps without changing the feel of the recipe too much. Dill pickle slices can be added during assembly if you want more crunch, and regular dinner rolls can stand in for Hawaiian rolls if you prefer a less sweet bun. If you are serving people with different tastes, set out extra sauce, pickles, and lettuce on the side so everyone can finish their sliders the way they like.

Tips for Success

• Shrinkage: Make the raw patties slightly wider than the rolls, as they will shrink during cooking.

• Sauce Prep: Make the sauce at least an hour ahead of time for the best flavor.

• Crispy Lettuce: Add the lettuce and sauce after baking to ensure the lettuce stays crisp and the sauce doesn’t break from the heat.

Troubleshooting and Serving Ideas

If your slider buns turn soft too quickly, the usual cause is assembling them too far ahead. Toasting the buns helps, but these burger sliders are at their best when the patties are hot, the buns are lightly crisp, and the sauce and lettuce go on right before serving. If the patties seem smaller than expected after cooking, flatten them a little more than you think you need before they hit the skillet.

For parties, you can prep the sauce, shred the lettuce, and portion the cheese ahead of time, then cook and assemble closer to serving. These Big Mac Burger Sliders pair well with fries, kettle chips, pickle spears, or a simple chopped salad if you want an easy side. If you are setting them out for game day, serving extra sauce on the side keeps the tops cleaner and lets guests add more as they eat.

Storage and Freshness

• Storage: These are best served immediately. If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.

• Reheating: To maintain freshness, remove the cold lettuce before reheating. Warm in a toaster oven or oven at 300°F (150°C) until heated through.

Helpful Tool for This Recipe

If you want evenly sized burger sliders, a patty press can make shaping the beef faster and more uniform, especially when you are making a full batch for a party.

  • Burger Press, Hamburger Press Patty Maker With 100Pcs Hamburger Patty Paper, 3 in 1 Non Stick Patty Mold for Stuffed Burgers, Sliders, Veggie Beef Burger, Kitchen Barbecue Tool Grilling Accessories. Useful here because it helps form slider patties close to the same thickness, so they cook at a similar rate and fit the rolls better.
