If there is one thing I’ve learned from years of developing recipes, it’s that you can never go wrong with a slider—especially when King’s Hawaiian Rolls are involved. But these aren’t just any sliders. We’re taking all the bold, tangy, and savory elements of a classic Cuban sandwich and shrinking them down into the ultimate bite-sized party food.

Imagine layers of salty deli ham, tender pulled pork, and a double-dose of melty Swiss and Provolone cheese, all topped with a zesty mustard spread and a signature garlic-poppyseed butter glaze that bakes into a perfect golden crust. Whether you’re looking for the star of your next game-day spread, a reliable crowd-pleaser for a holiday potluck, or just a 30-minute weeknight dinner that the whole family will actually agree on, these Hawaiian Roll Cuban Sliders are the answer.

They have that perfect balance of sweet and savory that keeps everyone coming back for “just one more.” Best of all? They are incredibly easy to prep in bulk, meaning you spend less time in the kitchen and more time enjoying the party.

Let’s get into how to layer these up for maximum flavor!

Why You’ll Love These Sliders

  • King’s Hawaiian Rolls: The signature sweetness of these rolls provides the perfect contrast to the salty ham and tangy pickles.
  • Double the Cheese: We use both Swiss and Provolone for maximum meltiness.
  • Signature Mustard Sauce: This simple sauce takes the sliders to the next level.
  • Perfect for Groups: One batch makes 12 sliders, making them ideal for game days or family gatherings.

Ingredients

For the Filling:

  • 1 pack (12 count) King’s Hawaiian Savory Butter Rolls
  • 1/2 lb Thinly sliced deli ham
  • 1 cup Pulled pork (roasted pork loin or leftovers)
  • 6 slices Swiss cheese
  • 6 slices Provolone cheese
  • 12-14 Dill pickle chips (or 4 long sandwich stackers)

For the Mustard Spread:

  • 2 tbsp Dijon or yellow mustard
  • 1 tbsp Mayonnaise (optional, for extra creaminess)
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

For the Garlic Butter Glaze:

  • 4 tbsp (1/2 stick) Unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tbsp Minced garlic
  • 1 tsp Dried minced onion
  • 1 tsp Poppy seeds

How to Make Hawaiian Roll Cuban Sliders

1. Prep the Rolls

Start by slicing your pack of Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally. Place the bottom half on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

2. Layer the Flavors and Bake:

• The Sauce: Whisk the mustard spread ingredients together. Spread about two-thirds of it directly onto the cut side of the bottom rolls.

• The Meat & Cheese: Layer on the Swiss cheese, followed by the ham and your pulled pork.

• The Crunch: Distribute the pickle slices evenly across the meat.

• The Top Layer: Finish with the Provolone cheese then bake on 350F for 10 minutes.

3. The Garlic Butter Glaze

Whisk together your melted butter, garlic, dried onion, and poppy seeds. Add the tops of the rolls onto the cheesy layer. Brush the butter generously over the top of the rolls, letting some drip down the sides. Sprinkle poppyseeds generously all over.

4. Bake Once More to Perfection

Bake another 20-25 minutes until the cheese is gooey and the tops are golden brown and toasted.

5. Serve & Enjoy

Let them cool for 5 minutes before slicing. For a fun presentation, top each slider with a toothpick and a mini cornichon pickle!

Tips for Success

• Switch Up the Meat: If you don’t have pulled pork, you can easily swap it for turkey, chicken, or extra ham.

• Don’t Skip the Poppy Seeds: They add a classic look and a tiny bit of crunch to the crust.

• Make Ahead: You can assemble these a few hours early and keep them in the fridge; just wait to add the butter glaze until right before you bake.
